THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD SCHEME
|
Cob Lane is a members only association for those people who have obtained their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's award.
The association run events throughout the year for our members. Cob Lane is also involved with the running of current Silver and Gold Duke oF Edinburgh candidates within the Sussex area.
Our planned events so far for this year are listed below

SCOTLAND 2000
|
Our main event in this year will be SCOTLAND 2000 taking place between 8th-18th of July 2000. This trip is a combination of a Gold Award expedition for our current Gold Award participants and our Millennium Ceilidh Celebrations. This trip is open to all members of Cob Lane. This will be the biggest event Cob Lane has Ever stage ! So if you want to be part of it

The Programme is:
8th Travel up and settle in
Visiting on the way
Gretna Green Rangers FC and Callander
9th Assesors Meeting, Equipment Checks
10th,11th,12th,13th Are expedition days with a Celebration Dinner on the last night
14th Equipment cleaned and packed
Visit to a distillery and Crief
15th Edinburgh for the day
16th River rafting and Big Ceilidh in the evening
17th Local Visit
18th Travel Home

OTHER EVENTS
|
CLIMBING COURSE Fri 24th-Sun 26th sept99
This course will be run at Blacklands Farm. The course includes Indoor Wall Climbing, Abseiling and Mountian Leadership Rope Work.This course is open to Millais 5 Millais 1 and St wilfrids Silvers.

BELA COURSE 2000
This is the Basic Expedition Leaders Award which is run by the county. This course takes place over four weekends usually once a month between January and April it also includes a corse that makes you an approved assessor of The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver expedition sections. This course also counts towards Gold Service and Commence's in January 2000.
